Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will meet greet and brief you about the land of a thousand hills depending on your time of arrival, we will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where there are remains of thousands of people who lost their lives during the 1994 Rwanda  genocide, most of the guides are survivors of the war each time you  visit is different as every guide has a different story to tell, later we will taste of the local Rwandan cuisine and depart for Volcanoes arriving for dinner and staying overnight at

Bisate Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience.

Morning breakfast followed by a transfer to the park headquarters, for briefing, in groups of 8 you will be led into the forest to track the primate species, there are a few of these left in the wilderness and 30% of these majestic creatures live within the forest, the walk may seem tough but rewarding as soon as you meet them, it takes 2 or more hours doing the activity depending on how far the gorilla families have moved, an hour is allowed while with them returning to meet your guide for an evening entertainment from the Iby’iwacu community, they will showcase the culture of the people or Rwanda and how they used to live in the old days. Day 3: Transfer Lake Kivu

On this day we will transfer to Lake Kivu, through the beautiful rolling hills of the countryside, the lake straddle along borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo, we will arrive in time for a hot lunch and an afternoon boat cruise along Lake Kivu, enjoy the lovely sunset and island tour on the lake, overlooking the Lake is the Virunga Forest and distanced Nyungwe Forest National Park, we will return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight at

Lake Kivu Serena Lodge.

Day 4: Departure

You will have a relaxed breakfast on this day after which we will transfer to Kigali for your transfer back home.
